EXCITING NEW PROJECT FOR ACT

In its mission to inform citizens of their rights, ACT is now sponsoring free booklets containing the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, which includes the Bill of Rights and the other 17 Amendments. The booklet also contains words of wisdom by the Founding Fathers. In 2007, ACT started offering these pocket-sized booklets to graduating seniors in all El Paso County school districts. All but two school districts agreed to accept the gifts, and one of those two districts has since agreed to accept them. In 2008, we gave 12,000 copies to high school seniors in all of southeastern Colorado. In 2009, we purchased 40,000 copies for statewide distribution! For 2010, we again have 40,000 copies to distribute. There can be no credible reason to oppose publicly knowledge of our constitutional rights. High school students today are woefully ignorant of their constitutional rights and our system of limited government. Government likes it that way. It is easy to manipulate the uninformed into supporting bigger government and greater sacrifices of our liberties. There is today no graduation requirement that one must pass a test on our constitutional form of government, much less free market economics or other foundations of our American way of life. That is sad. ACT is dedicated to educating Colorado citizens about their rights and roles as citizens. This project is therefore a perfect fit.
